🌟 Meet The Team: Anton Rothenhaeuser 🌟
As we continue our “Meet The Team” series at TokenTraxx, we’re pleased to introduce Anton Rothenhaeuser, our dedicated Partnership Manager!
1. What are your main responsibilities in TokenTraxx’s current projects?
I’m responsible for developing and managing relationships with new partners. Additionally, I oversee the membership program and forge partnerships within the music industry to deliver outstanding benefits to our valued members.
2. How did you get started with web3 and music?
At the age of 14 I started to get more and more amazed by the art of music, got my first mixer and experimented on GarageBand. Two years later I started taking it very seriously, downloaded Ableton and got obsessed with music production. After graduating from school, I attended a music production school in Amsterdam, where I met many talented artists. This experience fuelled my desire to pursue a career in the music industry, with the aim of supporting and promoting these talents in the future. Three years later, when I was considering a topic for my bachelor thesis, I discovered the web3 space and decided to write about innovative ways that artists can market themselves using web3 technology.
3. What excites you most about the convergence of blockchain technology and the music industry?
I’m amazed by the fact that fans can finally become certified super-fans, being part of a few people that share the same passion, plus own a part of the art that their favourite artist is releasing. Also, it’s just a super exciting time of the web right now where music and related assets can be represented as digital tokens on the blockchain, tradable for anyone that wants to own a part of an artist’s creation. Artists can use blockchain data to understand their fanbase and engagement without relying on third-party platforms, allowing them to create personalised content and marketing strategies. Fans also benefit by sharing exclusive experiences, and communicating with each other, fostering a stronger community.
4. Can you share a challenging aspect of working with web3 technologies in music and the wider creative industries and how you address it?
At the moment, we work a lot on educating people on what web3 is and what values it holds for the future. It’s a huge challenge to get more people on board and excited about this new technology, however I’m convinced that the mainstream adoption will happen. Also, telling people that NFTs are not just monkey pictures is tiring at this point, lol.
5. What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the web3 space?
I would start simple: get to know the basics of web3. What is a blockchain? What is a wallet? What kinds of digital collectibles exist? Do I want to gain access and utility from a collectible, or do I see it as an investment? Also, understand the concept of decentralisation and the value that blockchain technology actually offers. I feel that many people don’t grasp the space because they haven’t even tried to understand its basics.
6. If you could change one thing about the web3 tech landscape today, what would it be and why?
The user experience definitely needs to become smoother! There are still way too many steps to mint an NFT, importing it to a wallet to actually looking at it and have the feeling of actually OWNING it. In the past, you bought a CD and had a physical piece in your hand, so now we need to make sure users have the same emotional connection to something they own on their phone.
Keep an eye out for our next “Meet The Team” feature, where we’ll dive deeper into the innovative work our team is leading in the web3 and music spaces!
