🌟 Meet The Team: Kurt Martin-Brown 🌟
We’re excited to continue our “Meet The Team” series here at TokenTraxx. Let us introduce you to another vital team member, our dedicated Product Manager, Kurt Martin-Brown.
1. What are your main responsibilities in TokenTraxx’s current projects?
As a product manager, I help bridge the gap between our team and the developers, making sure everyone is aligned and any issues are quickly resolved. I also prioritise potential features by assessing and ranking their importance based on user needs and our strategic objectives, ensuring that development efforts are focused on the most impactful areas for our product and users. I also focus on understanding our users’ needs and planning their journey through our platform, which helps in choosing the features we develop next. It’s all about keeping things running smoothly and making sure we’re focusing on what matters the most.
2. How did you get started with web3 and music?
My web3 journey began in 2020, sparked by an interest in cryptocurrencies. After finishing my degree, I delved into music NFTs and discovered TokenTraxx. I was immediately drawn to its mission to reinvent the music industry’s value system and ensure artists are fairly compensated, which perfectly aligned with my beliefs in supporting creative communities.
3. What excites you most about the convergence of blockchain technology and the music industry?
I’m really excited about the potential to ensure fair and transparent credit and royalties for all contributors involved in creating a piece of music. Blockchain’s immutable record-keeping can revolutionise how contributions are credited, making sure that every collaborator in the music creation process is acknowledged and compensated fairly each time their work is used.
4. Can you share a challenging aspect of working with web3 technologies in music and the wider creative industries and how you address it?
I’d say the inherent complexity of the technology, which can extend project timelines. A specific recent challenge involved migrating payment rails, which required innovative solutions to simplify the process while maintaining robust functionality. Addressing such challenges demands a deep understanding of both the technology and the industry to implement effective solutions.
5. What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the web3 space?
Embrace continuous learning and be adaptable. The web3 landscape is rapidly evolving, and staying informed on the latest innovations and industry shifts is crucial. This approach will help you remain relevant and capable of contributing effectively to this dynamic field.
6. If you could change one thing about the web3 tech landscape today, what would it be and why?
It would probably be to reduce the technical jargon. The complexity can feel like a barrier to broader adoption and understanding of Web3. Simplifying the language used in this space could help make it more accessible to a wider audience, promoting greater inclusivity and accelerating the overall adoption of blockchain.
Join us next time for another exciting “Meet The Team” spotlight and delve deeper into the innovative paths our team members are forging in the web3 and music industries!
