As part of our ongoing “Meet The Team” series at TokenTraxx, we’re pleased to introduce another important member of our team, our Blockchain Developer, Aayush Mahapatra.
1. What are your main responsibilities in TokenTraxx’s current projects?
I am a part of TokenTraxx as a Blockchain Developer, where my main responsibilities include adding and integrating new features as needed, maintaining existing functionalities, building intuitive user interfaces, creating APIs, and working with smart contracts. My role involves ensuring that the platform remains functional and up-to-date while contributing to its overall improvement through the development of new, innovative features.
2. How did you get started with web3 and music?
I’ve had a profound love for music since childhood; it’s what drives me and helps me focus when I start programming. I was introduced to web3, a couple of years ago, while working on side projects, and my journey since then has been really exciting. It took a significant leap forward when I joined TokenTraxx that believes in providing value to both artists and fans. Working at the intersection of music and web3 has been an amazing experience, combining two of my greatest interests into a fulfilling career.
3. What excites you most about the convergence of blockchain technology and the music industry?
Blockchain allows to fundamentally change how artists are compensated. Revenue distribution has always been a significant challenge, with artists often not receiving their fair share. Blockchain, through the use of smart contracts, directly addresses this issue by ensuring transparent and automated distribution of royalties. This technology can empower artists by giving them greater control over their work and income, ultimately creating a fairer and more equitable music industry.
4. Can you share a challenging aspect of working with web3 technologies in music and the wider creative industries and how you address it?
One of the most challenging aspects is maintaining a consistent user experience while continuously adding new features and improvements. As technologies evolve, it becomes tough to ensure that the platform remains intuitive and accessible to users, especially as new functionalities are integrated. To address this, we focus on thorough testing and user feedback, making sure that each enhancement is seamlessly incorporated without disrupting the overall experience.
5. What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the web3 space?
Start by focusing on the fundamentals. With so much happening in blockchain technology, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but building a solid foundation will make everything else more approachable. Once you have a good grasp of the basics, you’ll find that the more advanced concepts become much easier to understand. Additionally, it’s important to stay updated with the latest trends, as the web3 landscape is constantly evolving with new developments emerging every day.
6. If you could change one thing about the web3 tech landscape today, what would it be and why?
It would be to enhance the technical support available for emerging products. With new technologies and tools being released regularly, developers often encounter significant challenges during integration. Prioritizing and improving technical support would help address these issues more effectively, ensuring smoother implementation and fostering innovation across the web3 ecosystem.
